SSM invites visitors to a collective testimony on November 25th, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.
Sabancı University Sakıp Sabancı Museum, in conjunction with the Suzanne Lacy: Together exhibition, organized with the support of the Sabancı Foundation, invites visitors to an experience shaped by participation, witness, and collective reflection with the Silent Questions performance. The performance will be presented to the audience in three different sessions on Tuesday, November 25th, at 1:00 PM, 3:00 PM, and 5:00 PM.
Directed and designed by Ayşe Draz, the performance is based on nearly 500 questions collected from visitors across generations since the exhibition opened. These questions, which focus on themes of violence, hope, the body, and power, were adapted into text by Ayşe Draz and Meliz Ergin, shaping the structure of the performance. As a reference to Lacy's participatory intellectual field, Silent Questions revisits these questions through sound and body, bringing together the emotions and thoughts carried by silence in a shared experience, creating a space of collective memory and witnessing.
The performance features Adil Ömer Çetindağ, Ayşe Draz, Begüm Akay, Berhan Alpergin, Egemen Sorgut, Gülüm Baltacıgil Gacoin, Merve Sude İyidoğan, Meyra Ahsen Temel, and Yağmur Kahraman.
The Silent Questions performance, which will take place at the Sakıp Sabancı Museum on Tuesday, November 25th, in three different sessions at 1:00 PM, 3:00 PM, and 5:00 PM, is free to all attendees.
The event will be held in Turkish.
